April & Matt's Wedding Ceremony
Except from Opening Words
Your presence here today is deeply important to Matt and April. They each told me how meaningful it is to share their commitment and love for one another with the people they love – with you. You are here not merely as spectators, but as dearest friends and honored witnesses. You’ve supported April and Matt through the early years of their relationship, and your enduring love and faith has strengthened them on a daily basis.
Today we invite you to take part in this ceremony as Matt and April, who for six years have called each other Best Friend, step into their new life together as Husband and Wife.
Lord, behold our family here assembled.
We thank you for this place in which we dwell,
for the love that unites us,
for the peace accorded us this day,
for the hope with which we expect the morrow,
for the health, the work, the food,
and the bright skies that make our lives delightful;
for our friends in all parts of the earth.
~ Robert Louis Stevenson
Excerpt from Minister's Address to the Couple
Of all the weddings I’ve officiated, Matt and April stand out as a couple that truly understands the magnitude of this commitment; whose hearts are filled not only with the romance of a wedding, but the fortitude of a marriage.
April and Matt, in marriage you will have the privilege of evolving together. You are healing each other, balancing each other, helping each other grow, filling in each other’s gaps. As partners you will grow in oneness as well as individuality, supporting one another to do meaningful work in the world. As parents, you will expand into something greater than yourselves, discovering a fulfillment unlike any you have ever known.
